Villa
Francesca was established in 1973 on land which previously belonged
to the old farm of Cortine. Giovanni Mari, who founded and managed
Villa Francesca, decided to abandon his role as a surveyor and
dedicate himself completely to the business, which had developed
rapidly and established itself as an excellent producer of Chianti
Classico and extra virgin olive oil. It is no coincidence that
Villa Francesca was the first Italian business to introduce
the idea of the "producer's label" to the market.
The company logo represents the head of a Bacchus, which is
an original drawing by Annigoni specially created for Villa
Francesca.
Subsequently, the business grew through
the addition of its homonymous restaurant, whose creation was
also inspired by the passion of Giovanni Mari, a professional
sommelier, for good, traditional and healthy food. The business
is personally looked after by Mr. Mari and his family, so much
so, in fact, that it has established itself as a typical restaurant
of the local Chianti area, with its welcoming family atmosphere.
